I am born and bred from the Kwa-Zulu Natal midlands. I moved to Rhodes University whereby I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and Botany as well as my Honours degree in Marine Biology. I then made a move to Cape Town to further my studies in Marine biology. My Masters thesis, which I have started at the beginning of this year (2016), is focusing on looking at the trophic interactions of gill parasites and their associated fish host species. This project includes general statistics of the prevalence of gill parasites in multiple fish species and also focuses on trophic level interactions through stable isotope analyses as well as looking at the morphological characteristics of these parasites which allow them to parasitize the host gills.
